Salted egg yolk has always been one of my favorite flavors. Growing up, it showed up everywhere in quiet, familiar ways. Stirred into congee, tucked into pastries, folded into snacks that felt comforting and special at the same time. Over the years, it became a flavor deeply associated with celebration, especially during Lunar New Year, when salted egg yolk desserts and treats began appearing across Asia in new and modern forms.

This shortbread is our interpretation of that flavor. Buttery and delicate, with just a hint of salted egg yolk, it adds depth and richness without ever feeling savory. It is subtle, balanced, and meant to surprise you in the best way.
